Synopsis
In March 2020, Zoe Stephens arrives in Tonga for a short holiday. Days later, the world shuts down. Flights stop. Borders close. What was meant to be a weekend turns into 531 days stranded more than 10,000 miles from home.

Within weeks, Cyclone Harold destroys her home and belongings. Isolated and uncertain, Zoe finds companionship in a pack of stray dogs who “adopt” her, opening doors to friendship, survival, and purpose.
As she embeds herself in island life, she organizes Tonga’s first-ever marathon, an event that unites communities during global fear. Then, in 2022, the largest atmospheric volcanic explosion ever recorded devastates the nation.

Blending exclusive self-shot footage with an emotional return journey, Beyond The Horizon is a powerful portrait of resilience, grief, pride, and the enduring power of connection.
